I'll give him credit for not whining, or blaming the restaurant

At least he admits the mistake is his. Sure, the restaurant could have chosen to be more helpful (and didn't), but there are also plenty of patrons who would get offended if you do question what they ordered.

I've seen more than a few rants on social media from people who genuinely made a mistake, then blame the business for not catching and correcting their mistake. Sucks you made a mistake, but it isn't the worlds job to go around and clean up your mess.
